Lucknow: The state govt has directed all govt secondary schools to organise alumni meets in Oct to strengthen ties between former students and their alma maters.According to directives issued by secondary education director Pratap Singh Baghel, schools will constitute alumni councils that will discuss students’ concerns and suggest measures to address them.“To inspire students, schools have also been asked to establish a ‘Wall of Fame’ showcasing the achievements of distinguished alumni,” he said.Baghel directed district authorities to identify and invite former students who have excelled in fields such as arts and culture, business, govt service, sports and social work.“The idea is to enable meaningful interactions between former and current students, allowing alumni to share their experiences and guide young learners,” he said.Under the guidelines, alumni will interact with students and offer suggestions for improving educational quality and institutional development. Former students who have made significant contributions to the development of their schools will be honoured with the support of district administrations.
