Under the nutrition and child development component, childcare facilities will be created for children in the 0-6 age group, offering nutrition support and primary health services. For children aged 6-12 years, the plan includes distribution of fruits and vitamin C tablets.A survey drive will begin within three months to identify gaps in Gadchiroli’s nutrition and health services. The plan also includes targeted measures to prevent stunting, low weight and malnutrition among children below two years, while increasing nutrition awareness among adolescents with a focus on anaemia eradication. The state said it will work with the district administration to improve the effectiveness of the ‘take-home ration’ distribution. For healthcare access, the programme includes expanding primary health services in rural and remote areas through telemedicine. Treatment for serious diseases will be made more accessible and affordable through the CM assistance fund, including arrangements with recognised hospitals in Nagpur to provide financial assistance to needy patients. On water conservation and livelihoods, the state said work such as lake rejuvenation, desilting, deepening of streams and rivers, and groundwater recharge would be carried out in Gadchiroli with Naam Foundation’s participation. Soil and water conservation measures will be pushed in low rainfall and water-stressed pockets to support agriculture and livestock development, while promoting climate-based farming practices. The state said the Gadchiroli interventions are part of the broader set of agreements signed with Tata Trusts and Naam Foundation, with the district placed as a priority geography for outcome-linked work on child nutrition, health access and water security.
