In a fiery exchange, Tejashwi Yadav took aim at Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlighting the alarming surge in crime against minors. He chastised the CM for the government’s inability to take decisive action against such heinous acts, while also denouncing the disrespectful comments directed at Rabri Devi within the assembly.

Patna: RJD national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday targeted CM Nitish Kumar over the law-and-order situation in Bihar and objected to remarks made about former CM Rabri Devi, alleging that the govt was failing to control serious crimes while resorting to inappropriate language in the legislature.Speaking to the reporters, Tejashwi said incidents of crime had become “too much,” referring to cases of gang rape of minor girls and citing a recent case from Darbhanga. He said the opposition had raised these issues and that Rabri had taken them up in the Upper House.

He alleged that the CM failed to give a substantive reply and instead made remarks about Rabri that were unacceptable. He claimed such conduct “boosted the morale of culprits”.JD(U) state spokesperson Anjum Ara said opposition members were behaving in an unruly manner. “There is a way to keep a matter in the House and not to create ruckus,” she said, adding that the House’s functioning involved public money and was important for the public. She defended the CM and said, “The mandate he got shows people’s faith, especially women folk in him.”
