Mandya: District minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to the comprehensive development of Mandya district. He was speaking at the inauguration of a new school building at Tagahalli Govt School, constructed with CSR support from JK Tyre & Industries. The minister emphasised that the district administration is working with dedication to ensure sustained progress across sectors.Over the past three years, around Rs 12,000 crore has been invested in the district’s development, he noted, citing major projects like the renovation of the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam and the economic boost from the Bengaluru-Mysuru national highway. Encouraging students, the minister pointed out that several top district officials, including the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police and ZP CEO, are alumni of govt schools. He stressed that English is only a tool for communication and that strong values and knowledge are key to success. Cheluvarayaswamy maintained that his focus remains on the district’s overall growth.V Eswara Rao, vice-president (works) at JK Tyre & Industries, said that under its CSR initiatives, the company has been actively supporting the development of schools across Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts. As part of this effort, two new classrooms were inaugurated at the Govt Higher Primary School in Thaggahalli, where over 280 students are currently studying. Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Babu Bandisiddegowda was present.
