T’puram: Govt has announced a 2% hike in dearness allowance (DA) for govt employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners, offering relief to both categories.The revised benefits will be paid along with the salaries and pensions to be disbursed on Nov 1. With the latest revision, the DA rate for govt employees will rise to 37%. The increase in DA and DR will entail an additional expenditure of Rs 96 crore a month for the state govt.The official order announcing the revision is expected to be issued shortly.
