Lucknow: To improve residential facilities for Scheduled Caste (SC) students, the state govt has allocated Rs 12.4 crore for the maintenance, repair and upgradation of basic amenities in all 223 govt SC hostels across the state.A govt spokesperson said the funds would be released according to the student strength in each hostel.Under the scheme, hostels with a capacity of 50 students will receive up to Rs 5 lakh each for repair and maintenance works.“The funds will be used to improve drinking water facilities, repair and upgrade electrical infrastructure, renovate toilets, undertake painting work, and carry out essential security and sanitation-related works,” the spokesperson said.Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun directed officials to ensure that all repair and maintenance works are completed on time and with quality standards.
