Shimla: Himachal Pradesh governor Kavinder Gupta conferred State Teachers Awards for 2025 on 32 teachers at a state-level Teachers’ Day function held at Lok Bhavan on Saturday.One teacher was also honoured with the national award.Congratulating the awardees, the governor said teachers play a vital role in shaping students’ character, values and future, while also contributing to nation-building.He stressed that quality, inclusive and value-based education was essential for achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’.Highlighting the National Education Policy 2020, Gupta said education must focus on knowledge, skills, creativity, innovation, research and character building. He also emphasised that despite advances in artificial intelligence and digital technology, teachers’ guidance, affection and values could never be replaced.The governor congratulated Himachal Pradesh’s education department and teachers for the state’s strong performance in the ‘Parakh National Survey’ and securing second position nationally in foundational literacy and numeracy.
