Gorakhpur: Bringing laurels to eastern Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur-born IAS officer Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal has received a national award for the fourth time, marking another milestone in his distinguished administrative career.Currently serving as the district magistrate and collector of Sepahijala district in Tripura, Jaiswal, a native of Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur, was awarded first prize in the Best District Panchayat category at the National Panchayat Awards 2025. The award was presented by Union panchayati raj minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, at a ceremony in New Delhi on June 3. Sepahijala district also received an incentive grant of Rs 5 crore for its outstanding performance.Jaiswal’s achievement highlights how dedication and perseverance can take individuals from small towns to the highest levels of public service. Before joining the Indian Administrative Service, he served as a doctor in the Indian Army and earned recognition for his work in challenging terrains, receiving the Sikkim Lily Medal and High Altitude Medal.This is the fourth national honour in his career. Earlier, he was felicitated by President Droupadi Murmu with the National Land Award in 2023 and the National Water Awards in 2024 and 2025. His journey continues to inspire civil service aspirants and young professionals across the country.
