The assembled golden throne at the Amba Vilas in the Mysuru Palace on Monday

Mysuru: The assembling of the jewel-studded golden throne at Mysuru Palace on Monday marked the beginning of the royal grandeur of the Navaratri celebrations associated with the Mysuru royal family.The golden throne, used by the royal family for private darbar, was assembled at the palace as part of the preparations for the private Dasara celebrations. It was carried out under the leadership of royal family matriarch Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.After religious rituals, the dismantled parts of the throne were brought from the palace security room to the Darbar Hall. The rituals included Ganapati homa, Navagraha homa, Chamundi puja and Shanti homa. In view of the throne assembly, entry of tourists to the palace was restricted from 10am to 1pm.
