CHENNAI: Customs sleuths at the Chennai airport seized 920 grams of gold, worth Rs 1.4 crore, from a woman who arrived here from Dubai on Monday.The air intelligence unit of Chennai customs intercepted the woman, who arrived here on an Emirates flight, as she attempted to exit via the green channel.Customs sleuths thoroughly searched her luggage on suspicion and found nothing. However, a personal search led to the seizure of gold in paste form, which she had hidden in the dress she was wearing.On extraction, the paste yielded to 920 grams of 24 karat gold worth Rs 1.4 crore. The same was seized under Customs Act.Further investigation is on.
