Panaji: Marking a significant step towards the promotion of spiritual tourism in the state, the tourism department launched its Ekadasha Teertha Yatra initiative on Friday from Shree Mahaganapati Temple, Khandola. The department is offering a curated tour spread over three days.The three-day pilgrimage circuit includes the 11 temples. On day 1 of the circuit, the tourists will be taken to the temples of Mahaganapati Devasthan (Khandola), Devkikrishna Devasthan (Marcel), Anant Devasthan (Savoi-Verem) and Mahadev Temple (Tambdi Surla). Day 2 of the pilgrimage includes the temples of Brahmadev Devasthan (Brahma Karmali, Valpoi), Saunsthan Dattawadi (Sankhali) and Saptakoteshwar Devasthan (Narve). On the final day, the temples of Parashuram Devalaya (Poinguinim), Shantadurga Kunkalikarin Devasthan (Fatorpa), Damodar Temple (Zambaulim) and Hari Mandir (Margao) will be shown to the visitors.Along the route, pilgrims will also have the opportunity to explore several nearby cultural, historical and natural attractions, creating a holistic journey that blends spirituality with Goa’s rich heritage, traditions and scenic landscapes.The launch includes two pilgrimage buses, which will operate along the circuit of 11 temples to provide devotees and visitors access to the 11 temples.Through this initiative, the tourism department wants to celebrate Goa’s temple traditions while making these important places of worship more accessible to pilgrims and visitors.“Goa’s identity is deeply rooted in its centuries-old traditions, its historic temples and its unique heritage. The Ekadasha Teertha Yatra reflects our vision of presenting a more holistic experience of Goa, where visitors can immerse themselves in the state’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy,” tourism minister Rohan Khaunte said.Designed to encourage visitors to experience Goa beyond its beaches, the Ekadasha Teertha Yatra showcases the state’s centuries-old temple traditions while highlighting its unique cultural landscape and living heritage.
