Mohali: The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (Gmada) has invited landowners whose land was acquired for the Eco City-3 project in New Chandigarh to submit or update their claims under the land pooling scheme.In a public notice, Gmada asked landowners who have not yet exercised the land pooling option to download the prescribed application form, fill in the required revenue details and submit it to the office of the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC), Gmada.The authority has also directed landowners who have already applied under the scheme to update or confirm their land pooling preferences within 15 days of the notice issued on July 12. Applicants have been asked to visit the LAC office during working hours for the purpose.Gmada said if existing applicants fail to update their forms within the stipulated period, land pooling entitlements will be issued automatically in accordance with the scheme’s terms and conditions.The Eco City-3 project is being developed on around 716 acres of land acquired across nine villages, including Kansala, Kartarpur and Rajgarh, in New Chandigarh.Under the revised land pooling policy, eligible landowners can opt for developed plots instead of monetary compensation. The policy provides 1,100 square yards of residential plots and 200 square yards of commercial plots per acre of acquired land, or up to 1,600 square yards of residential plots per acre wherever applicable under the revised provisions.Gmada had earlier announced a compensation award of about Rs 3,690 crore for the acquired land. The authority has also floated tenders for roads, sewerage, water supply and other infrastructure works for Eco City-3 and the adjoining Eco City-2 Extension.Eligible landowners can also obtain convenience certificates to avail stamp duty exemption while purchasing agricultural land elsewhere. In addition, beneficiaries are entitled to an annual subsistence allowance of Rs 25,000 under the policy.Gmada urged all eligible landowners to complete the required formalities within the prescribed timeline to ensure timely processing of their entitlements.
