Ghaziabad: In a 200-page chargesheet, filed in the July 10 gang rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl in a mall under construction in Raj Nagar Extension area, police stated that the accused had inflicted three to four fatal blows on the child’s head after the sexual assault.Nandgram ACP Ziauddin Ahmad said of the two men arrested, the younger one, Vinay Kumar (18), who had initially befriended the girl, offered her toffees, and then lured her to the construction site with a promise of chips and cold drinks, was more aggressive than the other accused, Sahibuddin (22).The chargesheet stated that while the two planned to sexually assault the girl, Vinay convinced Sahibuddin to kill her, saying the child would identify them. “It was Vinay who took an iron rod he found at the site and struck the girl’s head three to four times. When they were sure that the child was dead, they carried the body to the staircase and threw the body into the basement from the shaft,” the ACP said.Charges against the two men were filed under sections 70(2) (gang rape), 65(2) (rape of a woman under 12 years of age), 66 (for causing death or resulting in persistent vegetative state of victim), 140(1) (kidnapping or abduction), 103(1) (murder), and 3(5) (criminal acts done by several persons) of the BNS and several sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.Police have also listed 35 witnesses, including neighbours, labourers and security guards, in the case.Autopsy showed there were more than 25 injury marks on the minor’s body, 17 of them on the head, besides multiple fractures, including two on her left leg.DCP (city & trans-Hindon) Dhawal Jaiswal told TOI that CCTV footage from the mall showed the two accused entering with the girl through the entrance gate around 7.40 pm on July 10 and exiting around 9.30 pm.Vinay and Sahibuddin, both residents of Bihar, are currently lodged in Dasna jail. The two had come to work at the mall site around two and a half months before the incident.
