GURGAON: Around 1.5 km of a key connecting road in Sector 56 has remained in poor condition for the past three years, with residents saying repeated complaints to MCG have led only to temporary fixes. The stretch links KH Ara Marg with Golf Course Road and is a main access route for several housing societies. Residents said it was last properly built over five years ago, and has not seen any major recarpeting since. Deep potholes, uneven surfaces and rising dust levels have developed over time.“The road has deteriorated further in the past three years despite multiple complaints,” RWA member of Kendriya Vihar Sanjeev Shrivastava said.Another resident, SN Labh, said, “Repairs have been limited to filling potholes with gravel and loose material instead of proper resurfacing. This has worsened the situation.”Commuting on the stretch has become difficult, with dust affecting visibility and raising health concerns. Residents said children and elderly people are the most affected and often avoid stepping out.“It is a main connecting road used by thousands daily. To repair it should have been the civic body’s priority. Instead, we are being given temporary solutions that don’t last,” Shrivastava said.MCG officials, however, said a plan is in the pipeline. “The road has been taken up for redevelopment as a model road. An estimate of around Rs 8 crore has been prepared and the case will be placed before the finance and contracts committee for approval. Once approved, the work will be taken up,” an MCG official said. The proposed project includes resurfacing, drainage work, fencing along the green belt and road safety features.“In the meantime, potholes are being filled to provide temporary relief,” the MCG official said.
