Srinagar, Aug 11: The 54th Battalion of the CRPF organised the grand finale of the Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament in Srinagar on Monday, with 24 teams from the Srinagar Sector participating in the competition.

The tournament witnessed impressive performances by the participating teams, with players showcasing sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and athletic talent throughout the event.

Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Ravi Prakash, Commandant of the 54th Battalion, CRPF, along with senior officers, jawans and other dignitaries, was also present on the occasion.

The final match was played between GC Srinagar and the 35th Battalion. In a spirited contest, GC Srinagar delivered a strong performance to clinch the tournament title, while the 35th Battalion finished as the runner-up.

During the closing ceremony, Prof Ganai presented trophies and medals to the winning and runner-up teams. He congratulated all the players for their performances and sportsmanship and appreciated the organisers for conducting the tournament successfully.

Ravi Prakash also congratulated all participating teams and players, and said that such sporting events play an important role in promoting physical fitness, discipline, team spirit, camaraderie and morale among the jawans.

He emphasised that sports provide a healthy platform for personnel to develop teamwork and strengthen bonds of mutual brotherhood.
