Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday said the Falgu river would have water throughout the year following its proposed linkage with the Sone. “I belong to the Luv-Kush community and am a descendant of Lord Shri Ram. I assure you that the water shortage in Gaya will be resolved by linking the Falgu with the Sone,” he said while addressing the programme ‘Tulsi Ke Ram’, organised on the birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas under the aegis of Sanatan Sanskriti Chetna Parishad in Patna.Education minister Mithilesh Tiwari and BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi were present on the occasion.Samrat said Bihar is a state of culture. “Our history has been one of a golden age, one of Sanatan. Bihar has advanced due to the contributions of Lord Tulsidas, Lord Ram, and countless others. The ideals of Lord Shri Ram, including Maryada, compassion and public welfare, continue to be relevant for society,” he said and called for preserving and promoting India’s rich Sanatan cultural heritage. “It’s the responsibility of everyone to protect and promote India’s cultural values and maryada,” he said.Recalling the Ayodhya Ram Mandir movement, he said Bihar had been a centre of Sanatan culture and intellectual achievement since ancient times. Referring to Chanakya, he said the vision of an “Akhand Bharat” had emerged from the sacred land of Magadh.The CM said he is not against anyone, any caste or religion but a supporter of good governance. Mentioning his meeting with the mother of Bharat Tiwari, who was killed in an alleged police encounter in Bhojpur, the CM said various speculations had surfaced regarding this matter and a judicial inquiry was conducted. “Based on the interim report’s findings, the govt decided to provide financial assistance and a job to the family,” he said.
