Gaya: District administration on Thursday honoured the top 10 participants of a logo design competition launched to create the official logo for Pitripaksh Mela 2026.For the first time, the administration invited members of the public, particularly students, to design the logo for the annual religious event. Of the 10 shortlisted entries, six were submitted by students from schools in Gaya, Bodh Gaya and Manpur.District magistrate Shashank Shubhankar presented certificates and mementoes to the creators of the top 10 designs at the collectorate. A total of 104 entries were received for the competition, from which 10 designs were shortlisted and displayed during the programme.Addressing the participants, the DM said Pitripaksh Mela was not only synonymous with Gaya’s identity but also a major centre of faith that attracts pilgrims from across India and abroad.“Opening the logo design process to local talent has provided an opportunity for young minds to contribute to a globally recognised spiritual event. The official logo for Pitripaksh Mela 2026 will be selected from among the shortlisted entries through the prescribed process,” he said.He praised the creativity showcased by the participants, especially students, and encouraged them to take part in similar creative and social initiatives.The top 10 participants included Gaurav Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Kumari Vaishnavi of Anugrah Kanya High School, Sahzeb Kalam of Upgraded High School, Birhut, Nisha Rani of Jhikatia High School, Mrityunjay Vishwakarma, Anish Kumar of Mahavir Inter School, Chahat Vats of Sanyas Ashram Shyam Babu School, Ramesh Kumar and Ranjit Kumar.
