Bengaluru: A 30-year-old garment worker died and her husband escaped with injuries when a rashly driven BMTC bus knocked down their bike at Gollarahatti Cross near Nelamangala Sunday night. G Lakshmi, the victim, stayed off Magadi Main Road and was from Yadgir in North Karnataka.Lakshmi was riding pillion with husband Devendrappa, a daily-wage worker, when the bus, heading to Bengaluru from Magadi, rear-ended their bike. Lakshmi was thrown to the right and crushed to death under the front wheels of the bus. The bus driver is absconding,” an investigating officer said.
