Mumbai: At Garib Nagar near Bandra East station, Western Railway officials said follow-up work began immediately after the demolition concluded. On Monday, concretisation of the cleared area and fencing work were in full swing, with teams working to secure the stretch and prevent re-encroachment.Sources indicated that WR is likely to approach the state govt regarding rehabilitation, particularly for residents whose hutments were not demolished in the Garib Nagar area as per the court directives. Officials said further steps would be guided by the court’s directions and coordination with the state administration.The railway authorities also stepped up security at the location to prevent people from returning to the cleared land. Officials said additional personnel were deployed and access points were monitored as the removal of rubble and levelling work progressed.
