Garhwa: Govt-run Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Karondhi reopened on Tuesday, 17 days after it was closed following a case of food poisoning which left 71 hostels students, ill on June 26 after allegedly drinking contaminated water.Before to its reopening, district education officer Jaggarnath Lohra met the school management, teachers and guardians of students and assured them that concerns related to student safety, quality of food, drinking water and other essential facilities would be addressed.District program officer Kuldeep Aggarwal, Kharondhi block program officer Bipin Bihari Gupta and other education department officials also met guardians, public representatives and villagers to seek suggestions for ensuring the smooth functioning of the residential school.qahadi@gmail.com
