Kanpur: The water level of the Ganga continued to recede on Tuesday but remained above the warning mark at Kanpur Barrage, keeping residents of low-lying areas on alert.According to the Flood Control Department, LGC, Kanpur, the river level fell by around 0.15 metre over the past 24 hours and was recorded at 114.520 metres. Despite the decline, it remained above the warning mark for the sixth consecutive day.The flood situation in the Katri belt along the riverbank remained grim, with roads in several villages submerged under three to four feet of water.Residents of several villages have been forced to use boats for their daily commute. In some areas, tractors are being used to navigate flooded routes, while boats have been deployed where water depth has made tractor movement difficult.
