Panaji: Road transport minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday, en route to inaugurate the Porvorim elevated corridor, took part in a ritual marking the start of construction of twin towers atop the new Zuari bridge. He said the project is not only a dream for Goa but also a personal dream.Gadkari said the planned viewing gallery will showcase Goa’s art and culture using advanced technology, and that India should have attractions comparable to global landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. He also urged CM Pramod Sawant to consider a light-and-sound show on the Zuari bridge that could be enjoyed from a boat. Gadkari said the twin towers should become an international tourist attraction.Sawant said the project will be unique in the country: 120-metre-tall towers built over a bridge, with capsule lifts carrying visitors to an observatory in about three minutes. He added that Gadkari had given Goa a project he has not done in Maharashtra.
