Nagpur: Hundreds of citizens thronged Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s weekly Janata Darbar at Gadkari Wada in Mahal on Sunday, with civic issues, medical assistance requests, and welfare-related grievances dominating the proceedings. Gadkari personally heard representations from citizens and directed officials from various govt departments to ensure immediate action on pending matters.One of the highlights of the public grievance redressal programme was the distribution of prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices to Divyangs. Several beneficiaries, who had approached the minister seeking mobility aids, received artificial limbs and wheelchairs through his intervention. The move brought visible joy to the recipients, many of whom expressed gratitude, saying the assistance would significantly improve their quality of life and restore their independence.The Janata Darbar witnessed participation from officials of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nagpur Improvement Trust, District Collector’s Office and other govt departments. As citizens presented their grievances, Gadkari listened to each case individually and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officials for prompt redressal. He emphasised the importance of resolving public issues promptly and urged departments to avoid unnecessary delays in addressing citizens’ concerns.The programme attracted people from different sections of society, including senior citizens, Divyangs, representatives of social service organisations, and religious institutions. Many approached the minister with requests related to civic amenities, welfare schemes, healthcare support, and administrative matters.Several patients and their family members also met Gadkari to thank him for facilitating financial assistance for medical treatment through various govt schemes. Beneficiaries said the timely intervention and continuous follow-up by Gadkari’s office enabled them to receive financial aid for surgeries and other medical expenses that would otherwise have been difficult to afford.
