T’puram: Leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said the consecutive increase of fuel price was a daylight robbery by the central govt, adding that people in the state were eagerly waiting to see whether UDF would cut the tax, as demanded by them earlier, to bring down the fuel price.By hiking petrol and diesel prices again, the central govt is looting the public, Vijayan said. Imposing price rises even as Brent crude falls is daylight robbery. BJP is repeating its familiar trick — holding prices down during elections and emptying people’s pockets once the votes are cast, he added. When in opposition, UDF staged protests demanding that the state cut taxes; today the UDF is in power. “People across the state are eager to see what they will do to put their own argument into practice, raise their voice against the central govt, and reduce taxes,” Vijayan said in a statement here.
