“On 11th February is likely to be partly cloudy, with light snowfall at isolated higher reaches, followed by generally dry weather on February 12,” he said.

Dr Mukhtar said that prevailing conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy on February 13, with the possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches.

“From February 14 to the evening of February 16, the weather is likely to remain largely dry, though light snowfall at isolated higher reaches cannot be ruled out towards the night of February 16,” Dr Mukhtar said.

In an advisory, authorities urged travelers and transporters to confirm road and highway conditions from the concerned traffic control units and strictly follow official advisories.

People living in snow-bound higher reaches have also been cautioned against venturing into steep slopes and avalanche-prone areas.
