Nagpur: While on one hand, the top brass of the Cockroach Janta Party, including founder Abhijeet Dipke and chief spokesperson Saurav Das, have issued repeated warnings about launching another nationwide peaceful protest over the Centre’s non-compliance over withdrawing of FIRs, the Nagpur unit of the party remains inactive, with members awaiting directions from the central leadership before chalking out any future course of action.CJP leaders have continuously, for the past two days, taken to their social media handles to warn that fresh protests could be launched if the crackdown on demonstrators and registration of FIRs against protesters are not addressed. The party had given the Centre a deadline of Tuesday to withdraw the cases registered against protesters. However, there has been no visible movement on the ground so far.According to sources within the Nagpur unit, members are currently in a dormant phase, with no protest plans, mobilisation drives or organisational activities underway. While internal discussions and informal meetings among members have continued, no formal call for action has been issued either by the local unit or the party’s top leadership in Delhi.Sources said the Nagpur wing is closely monitoring developments at the national level and is waiting for further instructions from the central leadership. “There has been no communication or directive from the top brass so far regarding any fresh agitation,” a source said. The development comes after the party’s earlier nationwide protests, including the agitation at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, which saw clashes between protesters and police. The aftermath of the protest led to several FIRs being registered, with CJP leaders demanding their withdrawal.“If FIRs filed against our fellow protestors in Mumbai and Delhi are not withdrawn, we will take to the streets again. The government has seen the power of the youth and we wont shy away from doing it again,” said Abhilasha Paudwal, a student from who took part in the protests both in Nagpur and Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.For now, CJP’s Nagpur members continue to remain on standby, waiting for the next directive from the central leadership before deciding whether to resume street-level protests.
