Noida: Fourteen private schools in Noida received fresh bomb threat emails, triggering panic among students, parents and authorities. Police and bomb disposal squads carried out thorough searches, but no suspicious or objectionable items were found.
Police said the threat mails were sent to schools such as Father Agnel School in Sector 62, Kothari International School and Ramagya School around 9.15am. The emails claimed that explosives had been planted on their premises. Some of the schools shifted students to secure locations within campuses, while some declared early dismissal of classes as a precautionary step.
School managements promptly sent messages to parents informing them about the situation and assuring them that student safety was the top priority. The alerts caused anxiety among parents, many of whom rushed to school premises, leading to crowds gathering outside several campuses.
Police teams, bomb disposal squads and dog squads were immediately deployed at affected locations. Officials conducted detailed searches of classrooms, playgrounds, buildings, and surrounding areas for several hours. However, authorities declared the threats to be false.
Officers stated that cybercrime teams have been assigned to trace the origin of the messages and identify those responsible.
The incident left parents, students, and school staff shaken, with academic activities disrupted as many children were sent home midway through the day. School administrations reiterated that there would be no compromise on student safety and assured stricter precautionary measures.
Officers noted that similar threats have been reported nearly five times in the past three years in Noida, all of which were hoaxes. Experts believe such false threats are often intended to spread fear and disrupt normal life while also diverting administrative resources. Schools have since strengthened security checks and are sensitising students to report suspicious activities promptly.
