Kanpur: A fraudster duped a salesman of a composite liquor shop of around Rs 33,000 by purchasing expensive liquor bottles using a fake payment app.On the complaint of the salesman, an FIR was registered against the accused at Gwaltoli police station, and the matter was being investigated.Ramji Gupta, a resident of Civil Lines, works as a salesman at the composite liquor shop and lives there. In his complaint to the police, he said that on Aug 22, Krishna Kumar Pathak, a resident of Shastrinagar, came to the shop and asked for a liquor bottle worth Rs 16,300.The complainant said that the accused claimed to have paid the cost through a UPI app and even showed the payment-success status on the screen. However, when Ramji Gupta checked his bank account, he found that the amount was not credited. Gupta said that the accused earlier also bought liquor worth about Rs 17,000 in the same manner.Gwaltoli station in charge Ravi Singh said that an FIR was registered against the accused on the victim’s complaint and the matter was being investigated.
