Amaravati, All four NDA candidates, three from TDP and one from Jana Sena, were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha on Thursday from Andhra Pradesh.

Returning Officer R Vanitha Rani announced the election of Bashyam Ramakrishna, Lingamaneni Ramesh, Chintakayala Vijay and Sana Satish Babu to the upper house.

While Ramakrishna, Vijay and Babu belong to TDP, Ramesh is from Jana Sena. Vijay is the son of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu.

“As only four candidates were in fray for four seats (Rajya Sabha) until 3 pm on June 11, 2026, the cut-off time to withdraw nominations, the four candidates have been declared elected (unopposed). Elected candidates are Ramakrishna, Ramesh, Vijay and Babu,” said Rani in an official press release.

Though Babu retired from the Rajya Sabha recently, he secured another term in the latest biennial election.

Other members who retired from the Council of States include A Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Parimal Nathwani, P Subhash Chandra Bose, all from YSRCP.
Following today’s announcement, TDP has four members, YSRCP – four, BJP – two and Jana Sena one in the Upper House.

In the Assembly, the TDP holds 135 seats, followed by Jana Sena with 21 and the BJP with eight, while the YSRCP has only 11 seats.
