Jaipur: Four police personnel, including the SHO of Bhabru police station in Kotputli-Behror district, were suspended on Wednesday after allegations that they framed a complainant by planting a weapon and extorting money.Jaipur Range IG Rahul Prakash said action was taken against SHO Ramkishor, an assistant sub-inspector and two constables following a complaint by the victim, a YouTuber. According to officials, the policemen allegedly planted a pistol in the victim’s car and threatened to implicate him under the Arms Act while demanding money. The victim was later released after allegedly paying Rs 1 lakh. Police said the incident occurred on March 23 when the victim and his friends were travelling to Kotputli and were intercepted near Bhabru. As per the complaint, the police team seized their mobile phones and claimed to have recovered a pistol from the vehicle. The group was allegedly taken into custody and pressured to arrange money for their release. The matter surfaced after the victim grew suspicious and approached senior police officers with a complaint along with evidence. Following a preliminary inquiry, ASI Ramratan and constables Subhash and Lakshman were suspended. The SHO was also placed under suspension after his role came under suspicion. Prakash has ordered a detailed probe into the incident, which has been assigned to an additional SP. Further investigation is under way, officials said.
