Thiruvananthapuram: Prajeesh S Nair, former gunman of general education minister V Sivankutty, has been suspended following an inquiry into allegations that he behaved inappropriately towards a woman on a KSRTC bus.The action was taken after video footage purportedly showing Prajeesh behaving inappropriately towards the woman was made public. An inquiry conducted by the assistant commandant of the State Armed Police (SAP) found that he had committed serious misconduct and recommended further investigation.According to the inquiry report, the incident occurred on July 18 on a KSRTC bus travelling from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College to Kallara. The report said Prajeesh, who was seated in the rear of the bus, allegedly touched the woman sitting in the seat in front of him with malefic intention.The woman reportedly recorded the incident on her mobile phone, and the footage was subsequently circulated, bringing the allegations to public attention. The inquiry report said Prajeesh had violated discipline and engaged in conduct unbecoming of a member of the police force. It also observed that such an incident involving a woman had brought disrepute to the police force, where discipline is considered paramount.The allegations were raised last month. Although the woman had not filed a formal complaint, police initiated an inquiry after the video footage emerged.
