Hyderabad: Former Supreme Court judge Justice B Sudarshan Reddy and former Telangana high court judge Justice G Radha Rani will participate in a national convention against atrocities on girls and children in the city on Friday.Organised by the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), the convention aims to launch a nationwide movement against atrocities targeting girls and children while advocating for justice, dignity and safety.“The alarming rise in atrocities against women and children is a matter of grave concern. Even girls are not safe in educational institutions. In many cases, justice is denied, and victims are subjected to further victimisation. In this context, we are convening this national convention to launch a nationwide movement,” said N Nagaraju from AIDSO.He said around 500 to 1,000 students from across the country are expected to attend the convention, which will be held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Bagh Lingampally.Senior Supreme Court advocate Shobha Gupta, former CSIR–National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR) chief scientist Gauhar Raza, political economist Parakala Prabhakar, among others, are also expected to participate in the event.
