Kanpur: A forest department team caught a crocodile near Hardaspur village in Kanpur’s Chaubepur police station area late at night, ending two days of fear among residents. Deputy ranger Shubham Mishra said the crocodile was later released in Kanpur zoo.The crocodile was first seen in Ranjitpur minor canal and was subsequently reportedly spotted in Rautapur village. Its repeated appearance at different locations had left villagers afraid to approach fields and water sources.After villagers alerted forest department, a team began monitoring possible locations and spotted the crocodile near Hardaspur village late at night. The team carefully captured it in the presence of local police.
