Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday said all those Congress leaders visiting Gandhi Bhavan to lobby for nominated posts and positions in the party, instead of going into the field in their respective constituencies to ensure all eligible voters participate in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, will not be given posts.“Stop visiting Gandhi Bhavan up to Aug 3, the last date for submission of enumeration forms to the booth-level officers (BLOs). The nominated posts of chairpersons to various corporations and party posts will not be given to those who are not active during the SIR campaign,” he said in an online meeting with ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, constituency in charges, SIR coordinators and other leaders.A comprehensive review meeting would be held again on July 30 to review the constituency-wise progress report of everyone on the SIR exercise. Since the deadline for SIR has been extended up to Aug 3, it should be taken as an opportunity to reach out to the people, Revanth told Congress leaders, including ministers.He also offered the polling booth-level agents (BLAs) of Congress that the best 100 of them in SIR work, would be rewarded with a meeting and photograph with AICC leader Rahul Gandhi.The CM along with AICC in charge Meenakshi Natarajan, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud held the online meeting with ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, constituency in-charges, SIR coordinators and other important leaders.The CM told them that he had reports of SIR performance of every one of them and warned them to “hit the ground running” and utilise the extended SIR date to ramp up their performance on the SIR front at least now.On Monday, the in charge ministers of the 10 combined districts will conduct review meetings on SIR. Those designated as SIR in charges for the party must ensure constant coordination,” he said.Stating that MLAs, constituency in charges and chairpersons must examine the reports submitted by BLAs rather than relying solely on those from BLOs, the CM warned that strict action would be taken if there is reliance only on BLO reports. “Over the next 10 days, tours of all the 119 constituencies must be conducted in the same manner as an election campaign. Ministers, MLAs, in-charges, corporation chairpersons, and party in-charges appointed for the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process must tour the field. The team at Gandhi Bhavan must continuously monitor the BLA and BLO reports,” Revanth Reddy said.The TPCC president and the deputy CM were told to take greater responsibility in coordinating with the ministers in charge, MLAs, and party in charges.
