Pune: A foot-over-bridge (FOB) for hassle-free switching between the Civil Court Metro station and the upcoming Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi Metro line will be opened for the public soon.Maha Metro and PMRDA have planned to open the bridge before the Hinjewadi line is fully commissioned. The bridge is coming up in the Kamgar Putala area, towards the RTO end of the Civil Court station. It will help commuters to cross the Civil Court station’s premises and the road outside the station before ending at the concourse level of the Shivajinagar station on the Hinjewadi route, nearly 200 metres away.Officials from Maha Metro said they have provided the required support to construct the FOB, which will open towards the RTO end of the Civil Court station.Meanwhile, officials said the Civil Court will not be the only station where the two lines will have interconnection facilities. A similar interconnection is being worked out at the underground Shivajinagar metro station as well.A dedicated passage will be provided for commuters to switch between the lines. Maha Metro has already constructed a building at Shimla office chowk for the benefit of commuters. The details are being worked out, officials said.
