Considering this, passengers reached KIA late Tuesday night but as hours passed, they were left waiting for their boarding call.“There was no contact point representing the airline in the terminal. I contacted CISF because the lounges were not allowing us to wait there beyond three hours. They only allow us three hours prior departure, we did not have any update on our departure time”, Chandra Shekhar Sharma, a passenger told TOI.Passengers said many had reached KIA’s terminal 1 by around 8pm Tuesday and had no update. “After we complained, we received refreshments from the airline after we had already spent Rs 1,400 on food. That wasn’t the issue but we did not have any representative to help us. Nobody was there at that time.”, Sharma added.Another passenger explained that those waiting included serious patients who were travelling for their treatment. Passengers reached out to the ministry of civil aviation through X following which the concern was addressed. The airline later informed passengers that the flight from Mumbai scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru by 11:30pm had not taken off due to operational reasons.Priyank Turkar, a passenger on Spicejet’s flight to Bengaluru from Mumbai, posted on X that it was rescheduled three times.
