Lucknow: The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM) registered momentum across Uttar Pradesh, with Firozabad emerging as the top-performing district during the campaign, registering 349 enrolments, followed by Ghaziabad with 262 enrolments and Basti with 238.According to a state govt spokesperson, Firozabad emerged as the top-performing district during the campaign, registering 349 enrolments. With continued efforts by the govt and district administrations, more workers are expected to be brought under its ambit in the coming years.A special enrolment campaign was held between Jan 15 and March 15, delivering notable gains in extending social security to the workers in the unorganised sector.Several other districts like Banda, Bareilly, Ambedkar Nagar, Hapur and Bijnor also made substantial contributions to the campaign’s success.In terms of overall performance in 2025-26, Hardoi secured the top rank with 929 enrolments. Azamgarh (597) and Ghaziabad (547) emerged as model districts in the scheme’s implementation. Districts such as Pratapgarh, Basti, Ballia, Meerut and Varanasi too recorded encouraging participation.Officials said the special drive improved the pace of enrolments across most districts, a development attributed to targeted administrative efforts and sustained outreach at the grassroots level. “Even in districts with relatively lower performance, corrective measures and focused interventions are underway to boost participation,” the spokesperson said.
