Ahmedabad: Four persons were rescued after a fire broke out in office of wholesale cloth merchant on the third floor of Sumel-1 C Block, located behind New Cloth Market in the Sarangpur area of Ahmedabad city on Tuesday evening, prompting a swift response from the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES).According to fire officials, the control room received a call about the incident around 6pm. The blaze was reported in the duct line on the third floor, following which fire teams from the Panchkuva fire station were rushed to the spot. Additional fire tenders from the Maninagar, Jamalpur and Shahpur fire stations were also deployed to assist in the operation.Senior fire officials reached the site and supervised both firefighting and rescue efforts. During the operation, four persons who had were trapped inside the building were rescued by fire personnel. They were brought down without any injuries, officials said.The fire was brought under control after coordinated efforts by multiple teams. Authorities confirmed that the situation was now fully under control and no casualties have been reported. Fire officials said that the exact reason for the cause of fire was not immediately known. Primary investigation indicated at short-circuit in air conditioner or an electrical circuit.
