Kanpur: A major fire broke out in a textile factory in Sachendi area of the city on Thursday evening.The factory is located near service road before Chakarpur Mandi. On being informed, Sachendi police arrived at the spot.Eight fire tenders arrived at the site and initiated the rescue operation. The fire has been brought under control and efforts are on to prevent it from flaring up again.The factory, owned by Aditya Garg, manufactured cushions and mattresses. The cause of the fire has not been found yet.As the flames intensified, the workers evacuated the factory and informed the fire control room. Meanwhile, the employees broke the window and removed the stock used to make cushions and mattresses.Chief fire officer Deepak Sharma said that fire was controlled with the help of eight fire tenders. “The damage will be assessed after the fire is brought completely under control,” said the CFO.
