NEW DELHI: Six people, including an 85-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, were rescued after a fire broke out among household items in a five-storey building in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar on Sunday evening.A man also sustained burn injuries in the blaze. DFS said the fire was reported at 9.43 pm and six tenders with around 35 firefighters rushed to the spot. The fire was doused by 11.10 pm. The injured man was identified as Pawan Kumar (32), who sustained 25 to 30% burns and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Those rescued include Nitu Singh (50), Harshit (17), Ranu Devi (85), Meena Shukla (65) and Rohit Shukla. A DFS official said the fire broke out in domestic articles and documents on the first second and third floors of the building.
