Nagpur: A fire broke out at a cafe in Mangalam Complex, Gokulpeth, in the early hours of Sunday, causing damage estimated at around Rs2 lakh.Personnel from the NMC’s Civil Lines fire station brought the blaze under control before it could spread further. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.According to fire officials, a security guard noticed smoke coming from the cafe and alerted the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) control room.Fire brigade personnel led by Devanand Shamkule rushed to the spot, but the flames had spread to the external units of the air-conditioners, doors and furniture by then.“Four ACs, furniture and other material were gutted in the incident. Total damage is expected to be around Rs2 lakh,” an official said.
