Patna: A minor girl was allegedly sexually exploited by her private tutor, who lured her into a physical relationship on the false promise of marriage in Patna district. The accused has been identified as Punesh Kumar. The incident came to light on Thursday, after which police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Acting on the information, police inspected the crime spot and called an FSL team, which conducted a detailed scientific examination to collect evidence. “Intensive efforts are underway to trace the accused and arrest him through raids and other legal measures,” said Amarendra Kumar Jha, SDPO-II. He added that the case is being treated with top priority to ensure justice for the victim.Matric student found dead: A matriculation student, Kunal Kumar, son of Krishna Kumar Singh of Jagdishpur, Ara, was found hanging in Nageshwar Nagar, Danapur, on Thursday. A police team led by SI Dilip Mali found the body during patrolling and sent it for post-mortem. While the incident appears to be a suicide, officers are awaiting the post-mortem report for confirmation. Kunal, who was staying with his uncle—currently in Ranchi for treatment—was preparing for his final exam. His family has alleged murder, claiming he had made a distressed WhatsApp call shortly before his death.
