Gurgaon: An FIR has been registered against a senior manager in the finance department of a private company for allegedly misappropriating over Rs 1.13 crore by transferring funds from the company’s accounts to his personal accounts over a four-month period.The accused, Rahul Kumar, was employed with Moneyboxx Finance Limited in DLF Cyber City and had access to the firm’s banking systems and fund transfer mechanisms. Police said he allegedly abused his official position between Oct 2025 and Jan 2026 to carry out unauthorised transactions.The complaint, filed on Feb 18 by the company’s representative, Kumud Kumar, said, Rahul used his administrative access to bypass internal controls and diverted company funds into his own accounts. The fraud came to light during reconciliation processes, which flagged suspicious transactions.The complaint states that Rahul misappropriated Rs 1,13,33,000 and even deposited small amounts — Rs 2 lakh in Oct and Rs 5 lakh in Nov — into the company’s accounts to avoid detection. Investigations further revealed that he used the siphoned money for futures and options trading.Upon being confronted, the accused admitted to the fraud in writing and signed an undertaking acknowledging his liability and promising repayment. He later deposited Rs 10 lakh in multiple instalments in Jan and Feb this year.Police said Rahul is now absconding and is in possession of the company’s laptop and ID card. The complainant told police that the company is reviewing his entire employment period and will report any additional misappropriation if discovered..Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at DLF Phase 2 police station under Section 316(4) (criminal breach of trust) of BNS, and the matter has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW-1) for investigation.
