Mapusa: Colvale police have registered an FIR against 64-year-old Dilip Khorjuvekar in connection with the killing of a stray dog in Camurlim after receiving a formal complaint from the North Goa District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA).According to the complaint, on March 27, Khorjuvekar allegedly assaulted the dog, Teer, with a baton and later abandoned the animal in the river, near the Camurlim jetty, leading to its death.A video of the assault, which surfaced on social media, triggered widespread condemnation and demand for action.Meanwhile, angered by the incident, Camurlim residents on Thursday held a silent morcha demanding justice. Protesters marched to the accused’s house and placed flyers and posters outside the house condemning the act, with slogans such as ‘Justice for Teer’ on display.Police said investigations are underway.
