Chennai: Finolex Cables, a leading manufacturer of electrical and telecommunication cables, is targeting Rs 1,000 crore in revenue from Tamil Nadu in FY2026-27, supported by the state’s expanding industrial base, infrastructure investments and growing manufacturing activity. The company said the state accounts for a significant share of its South India business, which contributes more than 40% of its overall revenues (Rs 5,319 crore in FY25). Revenue from Tamil Nadu is expected to be in the range of Rs 750 crore to Rs 800 crore in FY26. Demand in the state has been growing in double digits, driven by industrial manufacturing, data centres, infrastructure projects and real estate expansion, the company said in a statement. “Tamil Nadu remains a critical pillar for Finolex Cables. With continued industrial expansion, the growth of EV manufacturing and infrastructure development, we see strong potential to scale our business further,” said Amit Mathur, president – sales & marketing at Finolex Cables. The state’s rise as a major automobile and electric vehicle manufacturing hub is also driving demand for specialised products such as automotive cables and battery-related solutions, while industrial clusters are boosting demand for electrical and industrial cabling. In agriculture, Tamil Nadu is Finolex’s largest market for irrigation wires, where the company commands nearly 35% market share. To support growth, Pune-headquartered Finolex has built an extensive distribution network in the state with about 20,000 retailers and more than 425 channel partners.
