Mysuru: The final rites of singer S Janaki were held on Sunday evening at a farmhouse in Kaniyanahundi on the outskirts of Mysuru. The singer’s granddaughter Apsara Vydyula performed the final rites. They were held with full state honours.District minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah and actress Bharati Vishnuvardhan were present.Speaking to reporters, Apsara stated that her grandmother was full of love and laughter. Thanking the Karnataka govt for the state honours and public homage, she stated that for her she was first her grandmother and then a singer. “She had a childlike spirit. She was a unique soul,” she said.
