Iran and New Zealand clash in Los Angeles in the FIFA World Cup Group G match on June 15, 2026.

Iran, ranked 20th, are in good form losing only three of their 12 matches leading to the World Cup, while New Zealand are 85th in the rankings. New Zealand had a challenging run of form winning only 1 of their 11 matches.

Key players to watch out are Chris Wood, Marko Stamenic, Liberato Cacace, Alex Paulsen, Tim Payne and Elijah Just.

The Iranian squad arrived in California a day before the match amid heavy security in light of the West Asia conflict.
