Akola: Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended food licence of an e-commerce outlet located in Kavar Nagar area along Murtizapur highway in Akola after inspections revealed multiple deficiencies related to food safety, storage and hygiene.According to information released by the FDA, the establishment was first inspected on August 12, following which a notice seeking corrective measures was issued on August 13. The establishment submitted its explanation online on August 21. However, during a re-inspection and hearing conducted on August 31, authorities found that some of the deficiencies had still not been fully rectified.The FDA said plastic curtains installed at the walk-in chiller and freezer were found to be in poor condition. The structure, arrangement of the racks were also found to be hampering proper cleaning and maintenance.Further inspection revealed food and non-food materials were being stored on the same rack. Food containers were also found placed directly on the floor, while dust and waste had accumulated beneath the racks, according to administration.Another deficiency noted by authorities was absence of a proper schedule for maintaining cleanliness.
