Hyderabad: A caterer working for actor Prabhas‘ upcoming film ‘Fauji’ died, and five of his colleagues were injured early on Tuesday when the car they were travelling in rammed into an under-construction road divider near Toopranpet village in Choutuppal.According to Choutuppal inspector G Manmadha Kumar, the deceased was identified as Rudraraju Veera Venkata Ramaraju (40), a resident of Krishna Nagar in Jubilee Hills. The injured were identified as Tippani Srikar, Naidu, Ramakrishna, Ramesh Kumar, and Srinivasa Raju. The incident occurred at around 6.10 am when they were travelling from Hyderabad towards Malkapuram. Upon reaching the new bridge near Toopranpet village, the car, driven by Srikar, a native of Karimnagar, reportedly went out of control and rammed into the divider.Ramaraju, who was seated in the rear, sustained a severe head injury in the crash. Locals alerted the police, who rushed all six to a private hospital in Abdullapurmet, where doctors declared Ramaraju dead on arrival. The remaining five are currently undergoing treatment.“We did not find any mud or anything on the road to suggest that the vehicle may have skidded. Based on the preliminary inquiry, it appears to be a case of overspeeding. However, we are examining all angles,” the inspector said. Ramaraju, a native of Kothapalli village in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, had been working as a caterer for film shoots in the city. Based on a complaint lodged by his younger brother, Guntur Sai Ravi Varma, police officials registered a case and launched an investigation.
