Hisar: Police have registered a case against three persons for allegedly solemnising the marriage of a minor girl in Hans Colony of Fatehabad district. According to police, those booked included the girl’s father, Pradeep Saini, a resident of Hans Colony, Fatehabad; the groom, Mangat, of Bhirdana village; and his father, Bhajan Singh. They were accused of arranging and conducting the marriage of the minor on Dec 13, 2025.Police said the girl’s date of birth is Jan 26, 2010, making her 15 years old at the time of the alleged marriage. Under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, the minimum legal age of marriage for a girl is 18 years, and marriage below the prescribed age is a punishable offence.The case was registered under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act at Fatehabad City police station on the complaint of Protection and Child Marriage Prohibition officer Rekha Agarwal.
